A little bit about me…

Hello! My name is Caitlyn and I just moved to Spokane a month ago.
I currently watch a 20 month old little boy and a 3 year old little girl during the weekdays but looking to add one or 2 more kiddos. I have references and I’m CPR and First Aid Certified.
I have my own vehicle and drivers license. I love being outside when I can so I don’t mind going to parks and going on walks. I prefer to watch in the other family’s house I nanny for, but can work something out. I also would like weekends off. I have many references and can pass a background/drug test.
I have more experience in infants so I prefer to stick with that but open to watching up to 3yrs old.

I am marking my 15thp consecutive year as a personal service professional.  I have been working as a childcare specialist and have adopted the title of guardian / guide rather than nanny.  I work in tandem with families, collaborating with parents, extended family members and other support folk in multi-staffed settings.  In addition to the past 10 years, I have an additional 3 years as a guardian and guide.  The families lived in Chevy Chase, MD, Portland, OR, Spokane, WA, Seattle, WA, Bozeman, MT, San Jose, CA, Palo Alto / Atherton, CA, Denver, CO, and Capetown, SA

I also have a background as a Early

Kristina T. - Seeking Work in Spokane

Nanny Kristina

A little bit about me…

I started my career as a professional nanny 23 years ago & can't imagine doing anything else as a job! I specialize in caring for children newborn to 4 years old, but I also have experience caring for older children and have cared for 9 sets of twins. I have an excellent driving record and have a newer SUV. I have 1 1/2 years of experience as a household manager too.

I am looking for the position to be long term (minimum 6 months, prefer 1 year +) & to have the taxes taken care of by a payroll company (cannot move without this being in place).

Looking to care for an infant/toddler or infant twins plus up to 3 siblings. Position needs to have a set schedule week to week hour wise:

#1: Thursday & Friday position (11 - 14 hours a day)
#2: Friday & Saturday position (11-14 hours each day)
#3: A weekend position (11 - 14 hours each day)
#4: 3-day position between Thursday & Sunday (9-11 hours each day)

My rate is $25 to $28 an hour (depending on how many kids)

Hours listed are flexible

"Kristina is an excellent nanny for babies and young children. She nannied for us and took care of our son from ages 5 months to 17 months. During that time frame she demonstrated patience and compassion with our baby through all the ups and downs of the big emotions of being a baby/almost toddler. Kristina is very experienced and practiced gentle parenting techniques including comforting our son when he cried, redirection when frustrated, and helped to teach him to communicate through basic sign language (more, eat, milk, please, thanks). She was also very thoughtful and hyper-organized in her approach to child care. She kept detailed written schedules for our son, packing lists, and to do/to buy lists for everything our baby needed. Overall Kristina is an experienced baby nanny and would be a great addition to any family looking for a nanny for their baby!"

"Sara was the best nanny I’ve ever had! Before my son was school age he spent the majority of summer in her care while I worked. She took him to the park, pool, library or to the lake everyday. She’s just such a caring person and mom herself! Was honestly a godsend and if I need even a sitter randomly she’s the one I call first!"

A little bit about me…

I recently studied Infant and Toddler Care at SFCC where I am working towards obtaining a degree in social services. I have 3 goals:

I would love to open a therapeutic child care center for children who have experienced trauma in their young lives.

I want to open a home for young women and their children helping the mothers with life skills, raising children and getting back on their feet.

I also desire to start an Adult Family Home catering to women with mental health disorders.

But those endeavors are a long ways down the road. 😜

I am strong in my Christian faith and it is my number one priority! I hope that my life exudes that to others. And if your beliefs are different than mine, I respect that and will not try to shove my faith in your face… 😉

It is true that it takes a village to raise a child, and I find it a great honor to be a part of that village. I absolutely adore little ones and I have since I was a child myself!

Non smoking/drinking/drug using!

Blessings

A little bit about us…

My family needs a sitter/part time nanny for 1-2 days a week from early morning until one of us gets home. It would include coming to our home to help get the younger kids ready, dressed, and fed and taking 1 child to school or staying home with all 3 (if it was on Friday). The rest of the day would include taking care of our 3 & 4 year to include playing, making lunch/snacks, taking them to fun outings, keeping them safe, caring for them and having fun! We have a 3-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old boy. The older teenagers three do not need as they go to high school/college and will usually be gone for the day. One of us could be home by 3:30 or we could do a longer day and be home by 6:30 (if you need more hours)

What are the typical responsibilities of a nanny in Spokane?

Nannies in Spokane and other places typically wear many hats. Beyond just looking after your kids, they may be expected to do light housekeeping, help with homework, cook meals, and engage your kids in enriching activities. As Spokane has a rich outdoor and cultural scene, you may also want your nanny to take your children to places like the Riverfront Park, the Spokane Public Library, or even to enjoy a fun summer day at the Splash Down. Understanding nanny responsibilities in detail will allow you to clearly define what you expect from your nanny.

How can I best prepare for a nanny interview?

Interviewing a potential nanny is much like interviewing for any other job, but with the added emotional layer of entrusting your children's wellbeing to this person. A good start is to list down the qualities you are looking for, including experience, training, personality traits, etc. Don't forget to prepare nanny interview questions that target these qualities. Also, it's crucial to provide a realistic job description, covering the nanny duties, expected hours, and salary.

What should I include in a nanny contract?

How does a nanny payroll service work?

A nanny payroll service simplifies the process of paying your nanny by handling tax withholdings, providing year-end tax forms, and ensuring you comply with all necessary legal requirements. It ensures that you're not just handing over cash at the end of the week, but are engaging in a legal employer-employee relationship. This is especially important if you're hiring a full-time nanny.

Why are background checks important in the nanny hiring process?

Safety is the utmost priority when you're entrusting someone with your children. Background checks are a reliable way to ensure that your potential nanny Spokane has a clean record and is trustworthy. In Spokane, where outdoor activities are common, you may want to ensure your nanny has a safe driving record if they'll be transporting your children.
