A little bit about me

Hey there, my name is Lylah and I am 22 years old. I have 6 years of experience working with children of all ages and have completed several childhood development courses in high school and college as well as CPR and first aid training. Children are my passion, and my plan is to continue nannying until I’m ready to start my own family. In addition to childcare, I am also able to assist with housekeeping, laundry, cooking/meal preparation, pet care, and other errands/responsibilities as needed and discussed. If you think I’d be a good fit for your family, feel free to reach out! I look forward to hearing from you.

A little bit about me

I'm a proud mom to a beautiful 17-year-old girl and I understand how stressful it is to choose someone to care for your child while you're away. I'm former Air Force, and have received extensive First Aid and CPR training, although I'm not currently certified. I've been babysitting off and on for 30 years, most recently while I was in the military, during my off time. My personal approach to parenting is more in line with Attachment style, however I'm a firm believer that all families should do what works best for them, and I will happily adjust to whatever preferences you have for your child.

I'm a full time student, but all my classes are online and flexible in when I work. I may bring my computer to do some work, but your child will always come first!

I'm currently seeking overnight care positions, one time or ongoing, but may be open to other times of day.

Available full or part time.

My commitment is short term, as I may be moving away from the area in November 2021.

How to Hire a Night Nanny in Battle Ground, WA

Nanny Lane helps you find a night nanny in Battle Ground, WA for overnight care and sleep support.

We offer nanny services including background checks, Agency, and nanny payroll. Start by posting a profile with a job description, and soon you can start connecting with nannies who fit your family.

What Is a Night Nanny?

A night nanny cares for your children overnight, often through the hours when a baby wakes to feed or settle. Many families hire a night nanny for a newborn so that parents can rest, and some hire one for older children who need overnight supervision while parents are away or working.

Common Responsibilities of Night Nannies in Battle Ground, WA

A night nanny typically handles overnight feeds, diaper changes, and settling and soothing, and keeps a sleep log before handing over to the family in the morning. Some also help children build better sleep habits, as agreed with the parents. They are usually awake for part or all of the shift.

What to Consider Before You Hire

Agree on the nights and hours you need, where the nanny will stay, and whether they are expected to be awake the whole time. Overnight work can have different pay and legal rules from daytime work in your state or province, so agree the details in writing and consider nanny payroll. Ask about experience with newborns if that is your need.

Night Nanny Interview Questions

Once you find a promising candidate, invite them for an interview to see if they would be a great fit for your family. Here are some questions you can ask:

  • Have you worked overnight shifts, and for which ages?
  • How do you handle feeds and settling during the night?
  • What is your experience with newborns and sleep routines?
  • Are you trained in First Aid and infant CPR?
  • What would you do if a child was unwell or would not settle?

At this stage, request their references and ask their references some questions. After preparing the job offer or contract, we recommend that you run a background check before the start date.
