We are looking to fill a part-time position for ASAP to the end of Summer 2021 for our twin two year olds. I work full-time from home and my husband is a full-time remote student at SOU.
Availability Required: Monday through Friday 10-2. There is some flexibility in the start time, and there is potential for more/different hours. We're mostly looking for coverage while my husband is in class.
Tasks Required: Supervision of two very energetic toddlers. They are potty-trained but need help with wiping and washing their hands. Some light housekeeping related to the children (i.e. picking up toys, putting away clean clothes, etc.)and meal preparation (snack and lunch).
Experience and Qualifications Required:
At least 1 year of childcare experience (twin experience would be a BIG bonus), First Aid/CPR, clean criminal record, and following basic COVID-19 precautions (mask on inside or around crowds, washing hands, social distancing, etc.).
Wage:
$20/hour

We work from home and we do have cats, in case allergies are a concern! Tasking would only consist of childcare for our son at our residence.

My sons are very bright and curious - Gavin (9) is artistic and friendly. He loves to draw (and talk!) and is a fan of Pokemon, Dragons, and bakeries. We are bringing his scooter so he can fly down the street. Gabe (20 months) is very sweet and comedic. We are deep in our "I can do it by myself" two phase but Gabe loves singing, dancing, and his favorite books. (And farm animals. And Gracie's Corner and Ms. Rachel.)
I am still working out the exact schedule, but basically afternoons and some evenings, and I will need care for the next two weeks until we return home to DC. No other expectations - I will provide lunch/dinner, so please just show up and have fun!

What Are Short-Term Nanny Jobs?
Short-term nanny jobs are temporary positions with a set end date, such as covering a parental leave, a family move, a summer, or a gap between nannies. They suit nannies who like variety, are between jobs, or want to try a family before committing.
Types of Short-Term Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities
Short-term jobs can be full-time or part-time and last from a few weeks to several months. Responsibilities are the same as in an ongoing job, with an emphasis on getting up to speed quickly. Check the dates, the hours, and whether there is a chance of the role being extended.
How to Interview for Short-Term Nanny Jobs
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:
- What are the start and end dates, and could the job be extended?
- Is the schedule full-time or part-time?
- What is the reason for the temporary role?
- How will I be paid, and is there a written agreement?
- What routines and house rules should I know on day one?
Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
