I have several years’ experience caring for children of all different ages. I am very outgoing, fun-loving , creative, and very active, allowing me to keep kids active throughout the day; not sitting in front of the TV. I enjoy stimulating my mind and the minds of young children through hands on activities, I feel experiencing is a huge part of learning. I love watching kids Grasp new concepts, or learn new tricks! Growing up in a big house hold with older brothers and sisters has given me the confidence I need to shape our worlds future minds. Also, I have worked at several ski resorts on the west coast in the ski school department teaching children how to ski and snowboard, Heavenly Resort in Tahoe, CA, and Canyons Resort in Park City, UT to name a few. I started Nanning part time when I was 18years old. The past 5 years of my life I have been a professional Private Nanny, meaning I dedicate 100% of myself to the family and children I work with. Currently, I work for a Doctor (wife), Private high school English teacher (husband), and their two little girls. Ada is their oldest at 3.5 years old and Lucy will be 1 year in two weeks FEB, 16th 2012. The parents trust me to make executive decisions for the girls. They will leave me with the girls for the weekend while they (the parents) have an out of town get away. I work up to 40 hours in a week for the family. I feel great satisfaction when parents are able to come home, after a long day at work, and give 100% of their attention to the children instead of having to worry about doing every day house duties. However, the children are my first priority but, when I have a few mins of down time I take the initiative around the house and do whatever needs to get done (light housekeeping). We do have housekeeping that comes to do the deep cleaning. In most cases I pick up after children, do any dishes left over from the night before, unload/load dish washer, take out trash, I do all girls laundry including folding and putting away, I make sure drawers are nice, neat, and organized, I sort through and organize clothes that may be too small, I also do parents Laundry, the list goes on, really. I will do errands for family, including but not limited to grocery shopping, dropping off and picking up dry cleaning, mailing letters/packages, I take girls shoe shopping , ect. I also will travel with families on vacations. I go out of my way to take care of the family I work for, my family. I care for the youngest Lucy, full time. I do all motherly duties including but not limited to singing, reading, developing motor & language skills, I make sure child is receiving healthy nutritious meals throughout the day, I keep her on a sleeping schedule, take her for walks (when weather permits), I love & cuddle her basically, I treat her as if she is my own . I suggested she start swimming class and we now have parent /nanny participation swim classes every Monday. We also attend baby story time at the local library. I feel being comfortable in social situations, in doors and outdoors, for babies and toddlers is very important. Since Ada is 3.5, she is attending Montessori school 4 days a week from 9am-noon. I get to work at around 7am so it is my responsibility to get Ada ready for school, making sure she has a good breakfast, fully dressed, vitamins are taken, teeth and hair are brushed, ect. I drop her off and pick her up from school, and again I make sure she has lunch. I also take Ada to extra activities, like swim lessons and ballet. Ada is quite the artist; we paint, drawl, color, bead necklaces, and dance a lot. Recently, I have been teaching her how to play soccer, shovel dirt, and rake the yard. We have so much fun outside! I love watching her skills improve. There is such a big difference since last year; it’s amazing how well she is developing.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Ashland, OR

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Ashland?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in OR? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family.
