A little bit about us

Hello,

We will be moving to Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2025 for one year. We are looking for a full-time, live-in nanny/housekeeper. We want someone reliable, trustworthy (very important), with 5+ years experience, vaccinated (COVID, TDAPP, FLU etc), non-smoker, is a mom, CPR and first aid certified, Drivers License holder, who has strong communication skills. This person would be expected to look after our 22 month old (he will be 22 months old in August) son, which includes playing with him, bathing him, changing clothes and diapers, cooking his food, feeding him, cleaning his cutlery and bottles and sterilising his pacifiers- over and above any household chores like Laundry, cooking for the house, cleaning (mopping & vacuum), doing the dishes, taking out the garbage, grocery shopping, driving to and from places etc, when needed. We will very much treat this person like family and will do chores alongside them when we are home and available.

Please reach out if you fit this description. We look forward to connecting with you :)

P.s. We are currently stationed with the US Army overseas in South Korea and are looking for someone prior to our arrival in Virginia.

A little bit about us

Hi! My name is Kimia and I am expecting my first baby at the end of July. My husband and I live in Charlottesville and are looking for a full time nanny to babysit from January 2024 - early June 2024 from 6 am - 1:30 pm M-F. We are both residents at UVA that's why our days start early. We are looking to pay $12/hr. We hope taking care of our baby will be a pretty easy and fun job. We would like our nanny to have skills working with an infant including bottle feeding, burping, changing diapers, and putting the baby down for naps.

A little bit about us

I’m going back to work in August, and I work remotely but travel a fair amount for work. My wife goes into an office 4-5 days a week, generally from 9-5. We can be responsible for pick up and drop off to a central location, and are happy to share a nanny with other children. Our little boy is Levi, and he’s a very happy, alert baby with a very full head of hair. He likes to play and be around others, and is very good about eating, pooping, and sleeping on a regular schedule. We’d like a nanny who is available 3-5 days a week, but consistently available so my wife and I can plan through our work schedules. We plan to use a nanny for several months, likely 3-6, until we are able to join a full time day care which we are waitlisted for

What Are Short-Term Nanny Jobs?

Short-term nanny jobs are temporary positions with a set end date, such as covering a parental leave, a family move, a summer, or a gap between nannies. They suit nannies who like variety, are between jobs, or want to try a family before committing.

Types of Short-Term Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Short-term jobs can be full-time or part-time and last from a few weeks to several months. Responsibilities are the same as in an ongoing job, with an emphasis on getting up to speed quickly. Check the dates, the hours, and whether there is a chance of the role being extended.

How to Interview for Short-Term Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What are the start and end dates, and could the job be extended?
  • Is the schedule full-time or part-time?
  • What is the reason for the temporary role?
  • How will I be paid, and is there a written agreement?
  • What routines and house rules should I know on day one?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
