A little bit about me
I am a student at UC Berkeley and I have spent many of my summers in the Cape! This summer I am interested in looking for a job taking care of kids, I am a public policy and education major, but I promise I am fun to hang out with for little kids (not too serious)! I am a rower for UC Berkeley. I am very responsible, organized, and a safe driver! I am also good at cleaning and cooking if you need a little of that. I love to spend time outside and at the beach, while I am no longer lifeguard certified I spent the past two years life guarding - I know safety always comes first!
Excited to get to know you and your family! - Sidney

How to Hire a Summer Nanny in Mashpee, MA
Nanny Lane helps you find a summer nanny in Mashpee, MA to take care of your children while school is out.

What Is a Summer Nanny?
A summer nanny is a nanny who works during the school break, for the full summer or for part of it. Summer nannies are often teachers, college students, or experienced nannies who prefer seasonal work, so families can find help when school-age children are home during the day.
Common Responsibilities of Summer Nannies in Mashpee, MA
Summer days are less structured than the school year. A summer nanny plans activities such as park visits, swimming, crafts, and day trips, prepares meals and snacks, and may take children to camps or classes. For younger children, they keep up the usual nap and mealtime routines.
What to Consider Before You Hire
Start your search early, since good summer nannies are booked quickly. Decide your start and end dates, your weekly hours, and whether you need flexibility around camps, vacations, or travel. Be clear about transportation, and about whether you need the nanny to drive. If your dates might change, say so up front.
Summer Nanny Interview Questions
Once you find a promising candidate, invite them for an interview to see if they would be a great fit for your family. Here are some questions you can ask:
- Which dates are you available this summer?
- Are you able to adjust if our dates or hours change?
- What activities would you plan for the children during the day?
- Are you comfortable driving, including to camps and activities?
- Do you have experience with children of our children's ages?
At this stage, request their references and ask their references some questions. After preparing the job offer or contract, we recommend that you run a background check before the start date.
