A little bit about me
Hi! My name is Caroline. I am currently a sophomore at Indiana University studying elementary education. My two friends and I will be moving to Charleston this summer (mid May-mid August). I was looking to try to nanny for a family this summer. I have tons of experience working with kids of all ages. I’ve been babysitting for about 7 years now as well as nannied for a family a couple summers ago in my hometown. I worked as a cadet teacher in a special education preschool, tutored for a summer, was a camp counselor or elementary aged kids last summer and worked in a daycare caring for children ages 0-3 for the past three semesters, but recently took a job as a registered behavior technician and will be working with individuals with autism for the spring 2023 semester. I love all things outdoors including beaches, hiking, going for walks, swimming, and biking! I would love to nanny for a family this summer that would be open to getting out and experiencing Charleston with me this summer!

A little bit about me
Hi! My name is Sarah, and I was born and raised right here in Charleston, SC. I'm currently finishing up my senior year of high school and will be heading to college this fall to study Music Education—something I’m incredibly passionate about!
I graduate in late May so I would be willing to start any time after. I would be able to work through the summer.
I absolutely love working with kids and have nearly two years of experience through an after-school and summer camp program. I've also done occasional babysitting over the years, and I’m now looking to take on a more consistent, full-time role in child care. I’m dependable, creative, and patient, and I truly enjoy creating fun, safe, and engaging environments where kids can thrive.

How to Hire a Summer Nanny in Charleston, SC
Nanny Lane helps you find a summer nanny in Charleston, SC to take care of your children while school is out.
We offer nanny services including background checks, Agency, and nanny payroll. Start by posting a profile with a job description, and soon you can start connecting with nannies who fit your family.
What Is a Summer Nanny?
A summer nanny is a nanny who works during the school break, for the full summer or for part of it. Summer nannies are often teachers, college students, or experienced nannies who prefer seasonal work, so families can find help when school-age children are home during the day.
Common Responsibilities of Summer Nannies in Charleston, SC
Summer days are less structured than the school year. A summer nanny plans activities such as park visits, swimming, crafts, and day trips, prepares meals and snacks, and may take children to camps or classes. For younger children, they keep up the usual nap and mealtime routines.
What to Consider Before You Hire
Start your search early, since good summer nannies are booked quickly. Decide your start and end dates, your weekly hours, and whether you need flexibility around camps, vacations, or travel. Be clear about transportation, and about whether you need the nanny to drive. If your dates might change, say so up front.
Summer Nanny Interview Questions
Once you find a promising candidate, invite them for an interview to see if they would be a great fit for your family. Here are some questions you can ask:
- Which dates are you available this summer?
- Are you able to adjust if our dates or hours change?
- What activities would you plan for the children during the day?
- Are you comfortable driving, including to camps and activities?
- Do you have experience with children of our children's ages?
At this stage, request their references and ask their references some questions. After preparing the job offer or contract, we recommend that you run a background check before the start date.
