The most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting, nurturing relationship with the child and their family. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and cared for, and a nanny plays a big role in creating that environment. It's not just about supervising or entertaining them—it's about supporting their emotional growth, encouraging their curiosity, and being a consistent, positive presence in their daily life. Trust, communication, and genuine care make all the difference.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was seeing a toddler take their very first steps while we were playing together. The joy and surprise on their face was something I’ll never forget. Some other examples would be watching a child offer their snack to another or help a friend up after a fall—those tiny, everyday moments of empathy are some of the most beautiful parts of working with children.
