A little bit about me

Hi my name is Aaliyah Welch. I've been working with children for about 10 years. I am CPR and First Aid certified and I am excited for the opportunity to be able to work you and your kiddos. I've worked in Head Start as well as a few daycares in my area. I've switched over to nannying because especially during this time I understand that families need help with their kiddos but they're not 100 percent comfortable in a classroom setting at this time. It's my intention to be able to help families and give them a peace of mind knowing that their kiddos are safe while they're away.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've been a summer camp youth worker, I've also worked as a teacher aid. I've worked in daycare as well as Head Start. I've worked with children with disabilities as well as allergies both mild and severe.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I'm a big kid myself I love cooking and making crafts. In the summer I love doing water activities. I enjoy being outside exploring when possible. I enjoy seeing a child grow.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important things for me about being a nannying is making sure the kiddos in my care are comfortable, safe, and having fun. Making sure the parent/parents feel safe and secure and knowing that their kiddos are in good hands.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with children with children with special needs sp far have mostly been positive. For me it's learning how a child operates and understanding what's not only comfortable but works for the child as well as the parents. When I work with a child with special needs I'm a student first then a guide/teacher that way I serve the child the best I can.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have so many moments but I believe on of my favorite moments was when I had a kiddo who was very shy and we were outside playing and he actually surprised me because I would always have to encourage him to play or speak up for himself. This day we were on the playground and he waa doing both without me. Then he was proud of himself and ran up to tell me. His little brown eyes lit up with excitement then he went back and played in the sandbox.
