Hi Families!
My name is Abby Schalk, I am a current freshman in college looking for part-time nanny positions, however, during the late spring/early summer would love to transition as a full-time/live-in/travel nanny for your families! I have a passion for working with kids, as I am currently studying to be a Pediatric Physical Therapist in college! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered at my church previously as the head youth manager for the 0-2 age range, I also am studying to be a pediatric physical therapist, and I was a previous pageant contestant which lead me to a role of guiding, encouraging, and supporting young girls across the country!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing crafts, I am a dancer so there will be tons of dance parties, safely baking sweet treats, coloring, and helping them on playgrounds (swinging them on swings, etc.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is making a connection with the families. I want the parents to know their children are in great hands. I also want the children to feel comfortable staying with me when their parents have to leave for work/date nights/ etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Living very close to the base, I often have been a nanny to many children who are military families. This sweet young military family had me as a nanny for their under 2 y/o daughter, who instead of being able to pronounce my name, "Abby" would instead called me "Miss Happy". The last time I was able to babysit for them since they were planning for their next base move, I tucked the little girl in and she said, "I love you Miss Happy". This made the job all worth it to make children's days that their goodnight words are exactly that, it made me appreciate my job to the next level!
