I think what matters most to me about being a nanny is keeping the children happy and genuinely making them feel like having me around is the best thing in the world while also setting respectful boundaries and being able to work with them, however they will most excel
My experience with special needs children...
My youngest brother had autism so growing up with him and helping him has given me experience with autistic children as well as working in the daycare center at my church we have a lot of other special needs children and my eldest brother is handicapped and my husband is his 24hr care provider that has also provided me with a lot of life experience.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny experience was definitely my first family that I took care of their daughter and I were together one night and she brought up the fact that her dad had mentioned me coming over that night to “work” to their mom, which then made the daughter asked me if this was a job and I wasn’t just her friend who enjoyed hanging out with her, and it made me so happy because she really thought that I was just there as her friend because I enjoyed her company and liked to spend time with her and that just filled my heart with so much joy and I felt like I was a proud nanny in that moment.
