I was a toddler teacher as well as a preschool teacher for 3 years at a NAEYC accredited center, and I have also volunteered to work with children at my church on multiple occasions over the years.

I love doing hands on experiences with children whether that’s exploring with art materials, baking, or doing a scavenger hunt outside. Children learn through exploration so all of those things are a huge part of the way I assist in children’s learning.

The most important part about being a nanny for me is building meaningful and trusting connections with children and their families. It is so special to witness children learn and grow but it’s just as special to have a relationship with their families that allows you to celebrate their successes together.
My experience with special needs children...
I have taken several special education courses, and I also have two siblings with special needs that I have helped care for growing up. I also volunteered for two years working at a place called equilibrium and it is a facility that helps children with special needs ride horses.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A funny moment I had nannying was when I took two kids I was nannying for to the park and we were all taking turns going down the slide and when it was my turn I went so fast down the slide that I fell into mud. All three of us burst out laughing and had a funny story to tell their parents!
