More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I nannied for a young boy with Down syndrome, caring for him from ages 2 to 6. I cared for another 6-year-old boy with Down Syndrome and his 3-year-old brother over the last summer. In addition, I've also taken on many average babysitting gigs, looking after children ranging from newborn to elementary school age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on their age and development level I love spending time outdoors, whether it's playing at the park, going for walks, or swimming. I also enjoy cooking and baking together, teaching basic ASL, and doing crafts or developmental activities to encourage creativity and learning. Reading books is another favorite activity of mine that works on literacy and encourages bonding. Additionally, I'm happy to assist with homework and provide transportation to and from school or extracurricular activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To have the privilege of shaping a child's growth and development, helping them build confidence, learn new skills, and navigate the world around them is so beautiful and empowering.

My experience with special needs children...

I had the privilege of working with a young boy with Down syndrome for four years. Like all children, he required love, support, and patience - if not more. During this time, we worked heavily on speech development, sign language, potty training, and developmental activities that promoted cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative skills. I allowed him to make mistakes and learn from them, while also giving him the freedom to explore new experiences. Despite his unique needs, I believe that he is capable of achieving anything he sets his mind to, and I did my best to nurture that potential every day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is definetly snuggles from the kiddos. When I walk into the house in the moring or say goodbye in the evening and they run into my arms, it's the most heartwarming thing and makes everything feel worth it!
