A little bit about me

I'm a 50 year-old single grandma that raises my amazing 9-year-old autistic grandson. I chose to be in child care 25 years ago and have never wanted to do anything else! I think that working with children is one of the most important and rewarding jobs there are. I want to make the future of our children and grandchildren better and brighter! I do that by making a positive impact on children I care for. I have been a lead teacher as well as working as a nanny for over 20 years and am in the process of finishing my degree online in child development. I love that when working with children every day brings something new! I'm a hard worker, a kid at heart and love to have fun! When i care for kids, safety, happiness and well-being is of upmost importance. I also like to work hand in hand with parents to develop an individualized care plan for their child. I also like to keep a daily log of their childs daily activities for the parents. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a licensed teacher for accredited preschools and Montessori schools as well as being a nanny for well over 20 plus years. I am certified in CPR/First Aid/AED training. I have been vaccinated with 5 Covid shots as well. I'm in the process of finishing my degree in Child Development and hope to go on to get my Masters in special needs therapy. Throughout the years I have received many hours of training that I was required to have to be certified
preschool teacher for accredited preschools and Montessori schools. I was also a director for a charter school.. I was also a directer but would rather teach and play with kids then sit behind a desk. Money is not why I started nannying and teaching. It's because I want to try to better our child's futures, one child at a time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to have fun. I enjoy being outdoors, doing arts and crafts, STEM projects, swimming, reading books and acting out stories, singing and much more! As a teacher I love to turn fun activities into learning moments. I love making learning so fun that they don't even realize they are learning! I'm a kid at heart and am always up for anything the child enjoys and wants to do.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is the safety, happiness and well-being of the children in my care. When I care for a child, I give the same care that I would expect for my own child. When I started a position, it is always a priority to gain the trust of the child as well as the parent by being genuine, transparent and caring.

My experience with special needs children...

I love working with special needs children! They are so inspiring and so full of love! I have cared for and taught special needs children over the last 25 years and have been raising my autistic grandson since he was born. Being a parent of a special needs child has been extraordinary rewarding and has taught me so much. It inspired me to start a Moms support group on Facebook so that I can help other moms that are going through the same thing. It also let's Moms connect with one another and offer each other support. I'm so proud if how much it has grown and the amazing ladies I have met!
