Hi! My name is Aimee, & I have 30+ yrs. of experience w/all ages, including professionally as a Nanny, as a former Foster Mom & former Daycare Attendant. I'm also a Mother to a grown Daughter & have 3 beautiful Grandbabies! I believe in making education fun, & opt for age-specific, creative play & activities to encourage emotional/mental growth (in lieu of excessive screen time). I'm First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (Adult/Pediatric), w/additional certs for Epi-Pen Administration, ECE, & many more. My vehicle is reliable, safe, fully insured & MVR is clean. Pets in the home are okay, too! I'm currently employed FT until July 2025, & am looking for a new position to start around July or August. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a Foster Parent in Brevard County for nearly 4 years! It was both rewarding & educational. My passion for working with kids began when my Parents opened Beach Child Care Center & Sandpiper Preschool in Brevard County when I was in 2nd Grade; Eventually I began working there & babysat for many of their clients, & eventually became a Nanny.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing crafts, swimming, singing, Scavenger Hunts, video games & teaching in FUN, engaging ways! I'm also more than willing to take your children on outings to the park, movies, museums, community events, Trampoline Parks, TopGolf, etc.!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, being a Nanny is more than just "watching children"; It's an opportunity to engage a child in fun & meaningful ways so I can truly make a difference in that child's life. As a Foster Parent, I had to sometimes employ fragile strategies to reach traumatized children & it taught me to be even more patient & creative than I'd ever had to be w/children before. While I no longer care specifically for Foster Children, I believe it's nonetheless helped me to understand ALL children even better than I did before.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working w/Autistic children; My Grandson & a friend's child are both neurodivergent, & I have spent the past 9 yrs researching ways to engage & work w/them! I am thrilled to say that after a LOT of hard work, my Grandson is finally saying several new words, & I'm very proud to have potty trained him @ 5 yrs of age when I had him all Summer! I walk every yr to raise money for Autism Speaks & I'm up on the latest research & techniques for working w/Autistic children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One Summer, I cared for my Autistic Grandson who wasn't potty trained at 5 yrs old; I spent an entire Summer w/him, working together at his pace, but there were MANY times he just sat there, did nothing & seemed disappointed. I reassured him it was okay, & we'll get there when we do! Finally, after about 2 months, he suddenly just ran to the bathroom, pulled off his diaper, had me help him up to the potty & GIGGLED as he went #1 for the first time in a potty (he REFUSED to flush it after LoL)! I even cried a little, & kept saying how PROUD I was, & how proud Mommy & Daddy would be too! W/in 2 wks, he did #2 in the potty, & I rewarded him by taking him to the store to let him pick out his very own undies! He picked Paw Patrol & Batman, & you'd have thought he got the latest toy! He was thrilled, & had very few accidents from then on! It was TONS of work all Summer, but SO rewarding! I love connecting w/children, but being able to help a child over a hurdle like that is on another level!
