I have more than 25 years of experience working with children and families in educational, recreational, residential, and support settings. I began babysitting as a teenager and later worked as an art teacher at a summer camp in Prescott, where I taught and supervised children ages 6–18. I have also worked with children and families at Walt Disney World, served as a Resident Services Coordinator for Rainbow Housing, and worked as a Support Specialist for Child & Family Support Services.

I enjoy creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children can learn, be creative, stay active, and have fun. I especially enjoy arts and crafts, drawing and painting, reading, games, educational activities, cooking and baking, outdoor activities, and imaginative play.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My experience working with children extends beyond traditional babysitting. As an art teacher at Camp Wamatochick in Prescott, I taught and supervised children ages 6–18, planned creative activities, managed groups of different ages, and helped provide a safe and encouraging environment.

At Walt Disney World, I regularly interacted with children and families in a busy, family-centered environment. As a Resident Services Coordinator for Rainbow Housing, I helped organize youth programs, educational activities, arts and crafts, and community programs for children and families. I also worked as a Support Specialist for Child & Family Support Services.

These experiences strengthened my ability to communicate with children of different ages, provide structure and encouragement, plan engaging activities, respond to individual needs, and help children feel safe, comfortable, and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy arts and crafts, drawing and painting, reading, board games, puzzles, educational activities, cooking and baking, outdoor activities, walks, and imaginative play. With my background in art, I especially enjoy helping children explore their creativity through fun, hands-on projects.

I also enjoy discovering what each child is interested in and finding activities that match their age and personality. Whether we're creating an art project, reading together, playing a game, making something in the kitchen, or spending time outdoors, I like activities that keep children engaged while giving them opportunities to learn, create, and have fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of caring for children is making sure they feel safe, supported, respected, and cared for. I believe every child has their own personality and individual needs, and a good caregiver takes the time to understand them while providing appropriate structure, consistency, encouragement, and kindness.

I also believe trust and communication with parents are extremely important. Parents should be able to leave knowing their child is in dependable, responsible hands. My goal is to provide a positive environment where children can be themselves, learn, have fun, and feel comfortable, while giving parents confidence and peace of mind about the care their child is receiving.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with learning disabilities and understand the importance of patience, encouragement, clear communication, consistency, and adapting activities to each child's individual needs.

I first gained this experience while working with children with learning disabilities during high school and have continued working with children and families in educational and support settings throughout my career. I understand that every child is different, and I believe in taking the time to learn what helps each child feel comfortable, supported, included, and successful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Some of my favorite memories from working with children come from teaching art. I loved seeing how proud and excited the children became when they finished a project and couldn't wait to show me what they had created. Some of their drawings of me looked absolutely nothing like me, which always made me laugh!

What I remember most is how excited they were to create something of their own and share it. Those moments reminded me how rewarding it is to encourage children to be creative, try new things, build confidence, and feel proud of themselves.
