As the oldest of five siblings, I’ve had hands-on experience helping care for little ones from a young age—it’s something that’s always come naturally to me. I recently graduated from Clemson University with a degree in biology and plan to attend medical school in the future to become an obstetrician. My experience with special needs children...

I have helped care for two of my young cousins, both of whom are autistic, on multiple occasions. This experience has deepened my ability to provide patient, attentive, and supportive supervision tailored to individual needs. It has also strengthened my communication skills and my ability to create an inclusive, understanding environment for children of all abilities.
