I’ve cared for children on the autism spectrum as well as children with nonverbal communication. My approach to special needs education is this: I monitor and look for key clues to show me what the child needs or wants. After offering, I will wait to see their reaction, and what more they need. Patience, understanding and love are the keys to special needs education.
