The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a caretaker is definitely making sure that the children are the happiest versions of themselves. Sometimes as adults we may overlook them, but we have to remember that these are small humans learning to manage the world!

My experience with special needs children...

I actually have two younger brothers that are on the spectrum so you can say that tending to children with special needs is almost second nature to me! Having to go from fully functioning siblings to my brothers in the spectrum was a very interesting transition but it has also given me an insane amount of patience and understanding!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments would have to be with one of my daycare students. She began the year extremely timid, and to be quite honest I saw lots of my younger self in her. Throughout the school year I had made it a priority to get her to come out of her shell by making sure that she was constantly being incorporated with the other students. And with just a little nudge and tons of positive reenforcement, she began to become a social butterfly. She and I also had the routine of doing positive affirmations every morning, ( for example, "I am Strong", "I am Smart").
