I am currently a tutor at Glenside Elementary, meaning I stay in one Pre-k classroom all school year and help children with their certain academic needs. I also help with maintaining the classroom, being one of the main emotional support in the classroom, mealtime, rest time, cleanup, transitions, and much much more throughout the day in a classroom.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Painting, making playdough/slime, science experiments, worm hunting, dance parties, water fun outside, nature walks, and really anything the child wants to do within reason!
The most important part about being a nanny...
being understanding and flexible. A child is never going to be 100% reasonable and easy and that is okay! Sometimes little people have BIG emotions and they just need some help to work through them, and that is so important. Showing children how to handle those big emotions is key to a healthy thinking process in the future.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is definitely walking in the door and when the kids scream my name in excitement, then come to give me a hug. It always warms my heart and reminds me I am making a difference.
