A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Aleesa Maya 💗 I’m naturally very caring, observant, and someone who’s always been drawn to understanding people—especially children. My faith is a big part of who I am. Biblically, I believe we’re called to serve others with love, patience, and humility, and that’s something I genuinely try to live out every day.
I’ve always loved psychology and emotional development. I understand that kids feel things deeply, even when adults brush it off as “just being a kid.” I really value emotional regulation, healthy expression, and helping children feel safe and understood, because those early experiences shape how they relate to others. I’ve been in therapy for almost 11 years, which has given me strong emotional awareness and empathy, and it’s one of the reasons I’m so intentional and patient in caregiving.
I attended a competitive acceptance neuroscience and psychology academy at Columbia University, which deepened my interest in how the brain and emotions develop early in life.
