More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience as a life guard and swim instructor for the YMCA . As a Swim instructor I worked with children as young as 6 month. I helped assist with getting them comfortable in the water and trust techniques to create a bond between the children and I . As mentioned in my profile my parents were full time care takers for the state of Missouri under foster care . Ranging from the ages of 2 weeks through 18 years of age. I was able to assist and watch my parents help special needs and different children from all walks of life . As a teenager I was a camp and youth counselor for my church . Working with children has always been second nature to me
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Even though I’m a young adult at heart I’m still a kid. I love to play outside, go to the park , take many adventures . I honestly believe in past life I was a fish lol . I love to swim it’s second nature . So taking the children to pools would always be a favorite of mine . I like to read to my younger children and build off their imagination because that’s the luxury of a kid . I feel today youth is very tech savvy so recording little fun videos or tutorials for what ever they are interested in is always a fun way to help bond with the kids as well. Fun learning educational activities like going to aquarium and learning about the animals, taking trips to the zoo , museums to help the development of a child is always fun. Sitting down and helping them with their homework showing different techniques to make learning more fun than just a “chore” lol. I feel any activity or hobby with children can be fun because it’s a new experience for them .
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing I would say is child development. Making sure the child feels safe and needs are met . These are the most important years of a person life and being able to be apart of that is truly special. Being a nanny is more than a job but I believe is creating an experience for a life time . I would love to be apart of the children life as well as being apart of the extended family .
My experience with special needs children...
As stated before I’ve had many experiences with special need children. My first memory of helping a special needs child was when I was in 1st grade . I had a classmate named Emma and every day I would walk Emma to her bus and made sure she was okay . From that moment I always wanted to be a helping hand for people . Growing up my family took in a child who biological mother was addicted to drugs . When he was taken into care by my parents we had to be very patient and keep an eye on him because he would be going through withdrawals. This is where I would say my nurturing and empathy came from. Knowing at a young age I had to be there for someone who had no control of what happened to them . This is where I fell in love with helping children or anyone one who needed assistance.
