- I nannied for a family with 3 children (ages 4-11), another family with 2 children (ages infant-2), and another family with 4 children (ages 2-10). I am not above changing a diaper if needed! Lol.

-In highschool, I took a class that allowed me to spend the last 3 hours of the school day in the elementary school of which I helped the kids practice their spelling words, monitored recess, and any other help the teacher needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Firstly, being patient! Every child comes with a specific set of needs and it takes time and patience to learn what they are trying to communicate with their behavior.
Secondly, being reliable! The kids deserve a consistent figure in their lives, even when it comes to caretakers.

My experience with special needs children...
I have taken a college course specializing in IEPs and 504 Plans.
I have direct hands-on experience with children diagnosed with ADHD, Sanfillippo Syndrome, and ASD.
Lastly, I am the child of a parent with a physical disability (Multiple Sclerosis). This has taught me how to be resilient, helpful, and non-judgmental from a very young age.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the families I worked with lived on a farm, which comes with a lot of responsibilities for the kids. The kids taught me A LOT about farm work and how to be a “cowboy” (that was all of their fixation lol). I loved listening to their stories and their explanations. We had a lot of fun running freely in their giant yard, while I ensured they were making smart, safe choices. I still keep in contact with this family and I love them so big!

Part-Time Nanny Available in Peoria, IL: Cor’Naja M.
I am 18 years old, fresh out of high school starting online college soon! I have 2 years of unpaid experience with kids. I also have 11 siblings so I’m not new to being around kids or caring for them. I also babysat for a few families in my neighborhood back in Harvard/Hebron Illinois. I’m going to school to be a pediatric CNA so this will help my resume tremendously. I’m very good with kids, babies usually cling to me. I like being in clean environments so I will tidy up when I feel is necessary if I have permission to do so. I’m getting my license soon so I can get the car my grandma gave me as a graduation gift. She is retired so my transportation is reliable, I have good time management, and I adapt to my environment fairly quickly.

Caring for children has always been a highlight in my life. From imitating my mother while she worked in her home daycare to becoming a teacher assistant. In the past ten years of working in early education, I have advanced to my current position as a Lead Teacher at Cadence Academy. This past year I received the Teacher of the Year Award!

I am a very kind, patient, and fun person to be around. However, I take any of my jobs seriously, especially when it comes to a person's well-being. I strive to be the best I can be for the benefit of myself and others.
