Hi my name is Alexandra Gale. I am 21 years old & looking for ways to earn a bit more cash. I have a mini dachshund who is almost 3 years old in March of 2023! She is my absolute world & I have been living alone with her since I was 18. I have learned how to take care of myself & others. I adore kids & would love to start working with them since I choose to do college at some point & want to major in something to do with kids. I have always had very empathetic connections with people. It has been very beneficial in a way I can learn how to treat based off emotion. When I was little before my brother passed he was special needs & it showed me how to love someone under what you see.

My experience working with children began in a daycare setting, where I cared for children ranging in age from 6 months to 8 years. This role allowed me to develop a strong foundation in early childhood development, daily care routines, and creating engaging, age-appropriate activities. I then worked as a paraprofessional in a special needs Pre-K classroom, where I supported young children with various developmental and behavioral challenges, helping them thrive in both academic and social settings. In addition to my professional roles, I have also volunteered teaching disabled youth ages 13 to 18 how to ride horses, providing both therapeutic support and instruction in a safe, encouraging environment. These combined experiences have deepened my understanding of children’s unique needs across a wide age range and strengthened my passion for supporting their growth and development.

Some activities I enjoy doing with children include reading books together, doing arts and crafts, and playing interactive games that encourage learning and creativity. I love organizing sensory activities and hands-on projects that allow kids to explore and express themselves. Outdoor play is also a favorite, whether it’s going for walks, playing on the playground, or engaging in nature-based learning. I especially enjoy incorporating music, movement, and imaginative play into daily routines to help children build social skills, confidence, and a love of learning.

The most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting, nurturing relationship with both the children and their family. Creating a safe, supportive environment where children feel loved, understood, and encouraged to grow is at the heart of the role. This includes not only meeting their physical needs but also supporting their emotional development, fostering curiosity through play and learning, and consistently providing patience, structure, and positive guidance. Being dependable, communicative, and respectful of the family’s values and routines is equally essential in building a strong partnership with parents and ensuring the well-being of the children in your care.

My experience with special needs children...

I have valuable experience working with special needs youth, both in educational and therapeutic settings. I currently work as a paraprofessional in a Pre-K special needs classroom, where I support children with a range of disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. In this role, I help implement individualized education plans, assist with classroom routines, and provide emotional and behavioral support to help each child thrive. Additionally, I have experience teaching children with various disabilities, including autism, how to ride horses. Through this volunteer work, I’ve helped children build confidence, improve motor skills, and develop trust through therapeutic horseback riding sessions. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the diverse needs of special needs youth and strengthened my passion for creating supportive, inclusive environments where all children can grow and succeed.
