I was a teachers aid for two years. Teaching a class of 22 kids ages 6-7. While in college I took a lot of child psychology and child development classes.
I keep a very organized calendar with assignments and due dates so nothing is missed. I try to organize fun educational activities so that way we can have some fun but still learn in the process.
I do cook and prepare snacks. I always want to see if there are and dietary restrictions. What your child likes and dislikes, and in some cases I know parents want their child to eat a little more of something so I can find some nice recipes that will incorporate that if they are against trying new things.
