More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've worked at the ELC at UAH. I am currently a teacher at Kindercare. I have watched my niece for about 8 years of her life. She sometimes comes from VA and stays with me to this day. I have volunteered as a assistant in the nursery's at churches. I have picked up/dropped off kids from school to appointments. I've taken on summer care for children. I have worked with special needs at the daycares.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I LOVE going outside, whether it's taking them to the pool, the park, going for ice cream, blowing bubbles, drawing with chalk, water balloon/water gun fights lol. I love painting when we're inside, doing different creative crafts, reading with the children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being able to watch the kids grow and develop those social and physical, emotional needs. I love being able to be a big part of the reason that they learn and want to learn.
My experience with special needs children...
At the last daycare I worked at, I would always take 3 of the special needs kids in the class to our sensory room while the other children had nap time. My job would just to play with them, we would look at all the different cool things in the room and see what types of reactions I got from them to see what they liked/didn't like. The daycare I work at now, in the infant classroom we have a premature baby who is 1 with the mindset of a 4 month old. (sweetest little boy). With him I just have to be patient with him and he's now learning how to sit up on his own, hold his own bottle. Shake his head yes or no.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was nannying for this 5 month old and I would take him to the park and he LOVED to swing. Everytime he would get on the swing he would just laugh and smile and it was just the sweetest moments.
