"Alexis has been an exceptional babysitter she has needed our kids on and off for the past few years and I cannot say enough great things about her. She is compassionate. She care about our kiddos and she is punctual on time and always helps out with the additional little things around the house. She is somebody that I would recommend to any family that is looking for a great nanny with great experience."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I currently babysit occasionally for a few families all across St. Louis and Franklin Counties. These families consist of children ages 3mo-9 years old! Along with babysitting, I have experience as a nanny/house manager, including elder care, a daycare teacher, and operated my own in-home daycare! I’ve worked with all different types of families in all different ways. My care for one family will always differ from my care for another as each family is different and has different needs! My experience began in July of 2016, when my twin nieces were born and I became their full time nanny for 4 years. Since then, I’ve always been involved in childcare, and don’t plan on going anytime soon!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to take my kiddos out to places such as the library, science center, museums and adventure parks! Combining physical movement, education, the children’s special interests and just plain silliness is a great way to build tiny minds. Interactive and engaging play gives children an outlet to safely discover their critical thinking, social, motor and emotional skills! An amazing way to do this (and my favorite way) is to create homemade sensory activities and/or puzzles made to challenge young minds in addition to going out for activities meant to exercise their bodies and their brains!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is really becoming another member of the family! Everything can be done right, but keeping 100% open communication is how I establish and maintain a trusting relationship with my nanny parents. I feel as though open, balanced communication between parents and providers not only improves the quality of care provided to the children, but also builds the relationships and trust between parents and providers, leading to a more harmonious household!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with ADHD and Autistic children all over the spectrum well as elder care. Similarly to how my care varies based on each families needs, every special needs/neurodivergent child’s needs are different! As a neurodivergent person, myself, I’m lucky to have a unique perspective on what your child may be going through, whether I can directly relate to everything or not! Autism and ADHD manifest themselves in all sorts of ways. Learning how your child’s neurodivergence manifests, what makes them tick and thrive is one of the most rewarding parts of being a nanny!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is such a wonderful and personal position, giving me the opportunity to join the parents team and help give the children and memorable and magical childhood! While going out on family outings is always fun, having Kitchen Concerts, cooking dinner while singing our favorite songs together, or coming up with our own games and inside jokes will always be my favorite part of the job. A child telling or showing me that I’m one of their safe adults and they’re excited to spend time with me is what lets me know I’m doing my job well!
