More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My last childcare job was for two young kids, (4 and freshly 7) I made them breakfast and dinner (they went to church camp during the day so I didn't do lunch), I would clean the house while they were gone and when they came back I'd help with homework and chores, then make healthy dinners and get them tucked into bed for the night after reading a bedtime story they got to pick out.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to teach and make it fun, I like to, with parent permission, incorporate a bit of learning into activities, say we're baking something I may ask them, depending on age, to measure dry ingredients out, or ask them simple math questions about the measurements, along with that I love to read, I bring my own books with me when parents allow, all kids books and of course one of my own for when the children are napping if they are of that age
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is caring for each specific child's needs, like a snowflake each kid is different, some need a form schedule and some need to feel more in control, finding that balance between what a child needs and a parent is asking you to do is the most important, get everything needed done, keep the child safe fed and happy, and make sure to pay attention to exactly how a child reacts to certain behaviors and change the way you do things to adapt to that
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and childhood trauma, I've worked with 3 different kids with ADHD, a few with autism or anxiety, but unfortunately I've worked with more than a few young children with early age PTSD, I'm very good at sorting through breakdowns and getting to the real reason a child may be crying, sometimes kids cry for no reason but sometimes there having a memory that hurts but they can't explain why, I am very good at finding ways for that child to explain why while remaining inside the boundaries a parent has set for me. I am willing to take a course or learn about any other special need or disability your child may have to best help your young one .
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite memory babysitting is hard to choose, each kid is special and I have a favorite with them all, but most recently a young girl I babysat had gotten yelled at by her mother right before she had left for work, she was crying and thankfully I was able to turn her day around, we ate breakfast and talked and she was okay again, after we played games, worked on some math problems, and went to the park, later that day she told me she was happy I wasn't a mean adult, I asked her what that meant and she said her mommy never said sorry after yelling, and she's happy we actually talked about it, she later drew me a picture of a giraffe, it was a circle with 3 legs, it's still on my wall today

Hi there! I absolutely love children of all ages! I have 2 daughters (14y/o) and (1y/o). I have taken care of kids my whole life, as the oldest daughter of 4 siblings. I also have 4 nieces I am very involved with. In my early 20s when my oldest was little, I would bring her with me and I nannied for 2 different families. I have worked with toddlers as an RBT and I have also been a professional princess for children’s events. Just changed locations and starting new! I would love to help a family who could also help me by letting me bring my 1 year old with me, as she is always with me!
