I was a student teacher at a daycare for kids aged 3-5 for 3 years. I also frequently care for my 5-year-old niece, and 10 year old younger sister. I do meal prep for them, help them with homework, and also keep the hood clean.

The most important part about being a nanny is the connections you make with the kids. You can’t be a good nanny if the kids don’t enjoy being around you. Although there’s many duties and responsibilities of being a nanny, most importantly making sure the kids are safe, you have to build connections with them. It makes everything easier including helping them with homework, doing activities with them, and keeping them safe .
The most important part about being a nanny...
One time, after picking up my niece from school, we were driving home and after only a five minute drive I looked in the back seat and she was sleeping like a baby with drool all over her cheek. It was hilarious. When I woke her up when we arrived home, I mentioned watching Frozen and she was brand new and wide awake!
