Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I believe everything is a learning opportunity for children. I enjoy a wide variety of educational activities between sports, music, reading, writing, dancing, arts and crafts etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I value my ability to nurture and provide children with a safe and loving environment that promotes growth and educational opportunities. My biggest goal as an educator is to establish a solid foundation for children to feel like they can be curious and engage.
My experience with special needs children...
I currently work at the Rosedale School. We are a SPED only school, comprised of 3 different categories of need. Medical, behavioral, and life skills.
I have worked with children between the ages of 7 to 22 at Rosedale, aiding all children in fundamental development while establishing a safe, secure environment for them to thrive in.
At Rosedale, we take on a non-traditional approach to education as we accommodate for our students individual needs.
I primarily work with children that possess behavioral disabilities or aggressive behaviors due to their disability.
In an average day in my life, I have to be ready to run the second one of my students bolts through a door (trying to escape), I am constantly on my feet trying to be three steps ahead of every situation to avoid conflict, and have had extensive training on how to safely handle when a student is being physically aggressive towards you. I excel at clear, simple communication as this is what my students require

The most important part about being a nanny...
I taught early childcare for a year and a half and thoroughly enjoyed every moment, but specifically enjoyed being able to see the children apply what they’ve learned over time. At the end of my time in early childcare (4-6 y/o) I was not sure if my students would understand me when I told them I was going to be moving. I’d been with most of them for 2 years by this time. When I left, I realized most did not understand. They laughed as they said goodbye - unsure what goodbye meant.
I did not return to visit them for several months… but when I finally did, one student, who had clung to me greatly, approached me with a look in her eyes that I’d never seen before. She was upset with me, confused. I spent my day at school with them reminiscing and doing activities. At the end of the day, my old student hugged me and whispered in my ear “I wish I could keep you”. Oh, the way this made me cry. To watch their understandings change as they experience new things, this is why I teach.

Hi! My name is Brooklinn, and I’m a 19-year-old college student at UTSA with experience caring for children from infants to 11 years old. I’ve also worked with twins, so I’m comfortable managing multiple children at once while keeping things organized and positive.
I’m responsible, patient, and genuinely enjoy creating a safe and fun environment where kids can learn and be themselves. Whether it’s helping with homework, planning activities, or sticking to daily routines, I make sure each child gets the attention and care they need.

I understand how important trust is when it comes to childcare, and I always aim to be dependable and someone both parents and kids feel comfortable with.
