Brooke F. - Seeking Work in Austin

I am a professional nanny here in Austin looking for the next family to truly become a part of! I am signed with several agencies in Austin, but certainly don’t want to limit my options, and most importantly, want to really take the time necessary throughout the process of finding my next position, because it is so important to me to find the family that I fit with the most! I am 24, and have over 10 years working as a sitter and nanny, as my mother was a single mom who raised me at her side as she was working as a nanny :) When I was old enough to "go solo" I really went for it, and have enjoyed every moment! Additionally, in the past I have squeezed in substitute teaching when I could, during the school year, for about a year in a half. As a sub, I often worked in special needs classrooms, so I have some experience with special needs care and teaching/tutoring as well. I have taken well over 30 short notice jobs from this site and similar sites. Through this site, permanent nanny positions, housesitting, agencies, and referrals I have cared for all different ages, from newborn at 0 weeks to 14+ years of age with at least 40+ families across the Austin area. I look forward to broadening care families for short-term care, backup, seasonal, date-night, or house/pets' needs, as well as finding a long-term family, as a full-time nanny/household manager/PA, etc. I know I am highly experienced and qualified for whatever your needs are! If you’re looking for someone who is independent, focused, pays attention to detail, and has common sense, I’m your gal :) Work History: Most recently, I was a nanny for a small family in SW Austin with one infant boy! (From approx. Feb. 2014-June 2014) Shortly before that, I was a nanny for a family in the Bee Cave area with three kiddos ages 10 months, 4 years, and 6 years. This position was from August though December of 2013. The longest nanny job I have had was two years with a family, who when I started in August of 2011, had a 3-month-old baby girl. During my time with them they added to their family another baby girl, therefore extensively adding to my newborn experience and the oldest daughter will now be 4 in May and the youngest just turned 2 years old in November. As with most of the families I have been a nanny with, my relationship with this family is on-going and still continue back-up care, date-nights, etc. but this particular family hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to finding another family to truly become part of again! :) I am also sometimes available on short notice! Feel free to contact for any/all last-minute needs, as I may be able to accommodate! Minimum date-night, back-up care, etc. rate: $15 per hour. Three-hour minimum. Please inquire about exact rate based on job/needs.

I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. I come from a large family and remember there always being babies and children of all ages around me that I had the privilege of helping and playing with at holidays, vacations, summers, and family get-togethers throughout the year. When I was 12 or 13, I began staying overnight to babysit some of my cousins of two different families. One of those families had 2 children, a boy and a girl at the time, and the other family had 4 energetic boys (2 of whom were twins). When I turned 16, I became a lifeguard and swim instructor, at which time I had the opportunity to work with babies and children in the pool on a regular basis over the course of 3 years. Throughout high school, I babysat for various families, even going on vacation with two of those families to watch their combined 4 children. During my time in college, I also found children to babysit and worked as a part-time nanny for a family with 2 children. Besides providing my services as a babysitter and nanny, at the age of 13, I also volunteered as an assistant gymnastics tumbling coach, working with children of the ages 6 through 8. In high school, I also taught at cheer leading camps for children. Over the past 5 ½ years, I worked with children in preschools and elementary schools as a specialized sports coach. I was self-employed in this role and held the position from January 2008 to June 2013. In this role, I instruct children ages 2 through 9 years of age in 7 different sports in order to nurture cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. For this, I traveled to a different (sometimes 2 or 3) school everyday to coach children who enrolled in my sports program. Each class size was kept small (4 to 8 per class) and was made up of children of the same age. During my busiest season, I was coaching 250+ different students each week, at a total of 8 different locations. At the same time, I worked on the side, as a babysitter/nanny of infants and toddlers (twins included), as well as children age 5 and 7, for several different families, as needed and when the parents went out of town on vacation without their two-year-old twins. Currently, I am a permanent part-time weekly nanny/babysitter for an infant.

I have over 5 years of childcare, from children ranging from newborns to 13 year olds. Caring includes but not limited to diapering, tummy time, feeding, exercise, reading, playing and running outside at the park, swimming during the summer, snowmen and snow angels during the winter, play dates, various classes such as music and movement, gymnastics and dance, birthday parties, doctor visits, art projects, bathing, meal preps, daily walks, visits to the Norwalk Aquarium, Stepping Stones Children’s Museum and the Bronx Zoo. I’m a big stickler on manners and believe in teaching them early on, please, thank you and you’re welcome will always be used with me. I’ve come up with my own system of potty training that has so far worked on 3 children both girls and boys in a matter of months. I’ve mastered the art of juggling more than 1 child and their different nap schedules, sleep training doesn’t scare me! I have no problem managing more than 1 little rascal at different events and places, in fact I think it makes life a little more interesting.

Hello, My name is Amber. I am 24 years old, responsible and friendly student seeking to obtain a childcare/ Nanny position . I'm really great with children and wish to become part of your team. I have over seven years of experience. I was a full-time nanny for nine months this past year, and have cared for many families throughout attending college. I have worked with several professional families in the Austin area and I can provide excellent references. I am currently a substitute teacher at the Lakehills Montessori School at the Bee Caves location and I am looking for a full-time Nanny position. I am an engaged, nurturing, and structured caretaker. My philosophy for taking care of children includes love and consistency and Learning through play. The key component to learning through play is the active engagement between the guide and the child. This engagement is crucial for two reasons; first, because it guides the learning of the child, and second, because it ensures the safety of the child. When a guide is actively engaged with a child, her eyes always on the child and she is guiding the child from one activity to another. A child's life is greatly influenced through the act of playing. The child has the opportunity to learn about themselves and make sense of the world around them. Learning through play helps the child develop social skills, motor skills (physical coordination), language growth, problem-solving skills and self-confidence. I am a very active person and love teaching. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I think it is vital that they have a good role model to look up to. I love to experience new things, and think that it is important to introduce the children to novel things as well. I try very hard to find new and exciting activities to constantly capture their attention. I love to play interactive games with children, take them to the parks and activities, etc. I also enjoy taking children on nature walks. I am prepared to devote as much time to attain the knowledge needed to execute the daily job tasks, and continue to endeavor beyond the required tasks. I am confident my deep functional knowledge brings value to your family and my past experience offers a fresh perspective.
