I have always had a love for children and began babysitting when I was only 10 years old. I have cared for multiples, children of individual families, as well as children from multiple families at once. I have taught Bible classes, counseled at church camp, worked in the childcare facility at a gym as well as taught kid fit classes. I taught at a preschool and I have also been a personal nanny. I am 38 hours shy of my Bachelor degree in Psychology, and many of my classes are Education courses. I plan to eventually get certified and teach elementary school. I am now the mother of a beautiful 16mo old baby girl.

I am a certifified special education teacher who has been teaching for 11 years. I have a degree in special education and regular education from Heidelberg College in Ohio. My students have ranged in ages from 2-14. I worked in a daycare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers for approximately 1 year before I began teaching. I have also babysat family and friends' children from infant- 14 years of age for the past 25 years, and have taken care of children of all ages and abilities in all capacities, from bathing, feeding, diapering, putting them to bed, to teaching them and enriching their lives greatly. I have made a big difference in the lives of many children. Over the years I have had a great deal of people tell me that I have a great amount of patience and love for children, as well as a gift for working with children of all ages and abilities. My heart is filled with love for all children of all abilities. I look at the heart, not at the outward appearance. I was a nanny for 3 years for 2 precious girls from when they were born until they went off to preschool. For the past year I have been teaching preschool in a homeless shelter.

Starting with little babysitting jobs here and there in my early teens word of mouth spread quickly and I had families left and right asking for my availability. I gained CPR certification and once I began college courses, I decided to take my childcare skills to the next level and become a nanny full-time. Since my curriculum is basically that of a nurse's, I know first-aid, wound dressing, how to to take vital signs, and I am more than capable of keeping a cool head in an emergency situation. If there is ever an emergency of any kind, your child is very safe in my care. You should also note that I have a clean driving record and I do not smoke, nor do I drink. At the end of each day, I like to give a report on how the day went including behavior, activities, and progress. I understand not everyone is looking for a "part of the family" type of nanny, and that's quite all right. However, I believe a nanny should act as someone who can be relied upon to be there for the child's emotional need for a happy medium between a parent and friend that keeps the same morals/stances as the parent while making the child feel like they have their very own confidant. Note that anything your child and I discuss would be reported to you in detail. I have never missed any of "my kids'" birthdays or big days in life and I spoil and care for them as if they're my own relatives whether I'm on the clock or not. That's the type of nanny I am, I couldn't possibly imagine being anything less.

While I have worked with children for over 10years, the past 6years I've worked mostly with children with disabilities, mainly children with ASD, and loved every minute of it. I have had the opportunity to work in many various settings: home therapy, clinical therapy, being a nanny, babysitting, swim lessons, and teaching in a classroom. I have extensive training in children with special needs, including but not limited to Autism, Aspergers, ADD/ADHD, ODD. I have experience with children ranging from newborn to 16years old and adults with special needs. I have cared for twin newborns, as well as, twin toddlers. However, the majority of my experience is with children ages 3-8. I am currently teaching at a school for children with emotionally, behavioral and learning disabilities; my class ranges from ages 3-8.

From the time my children were born I knew I wanted to be with them and work outside the home. I found working at a private preschool to be the most amazing experience. When my children where little I taught infants through age 4 at a few private preschools here in Arlington. I loved every minute of teaching and caring for very young children. I decided to go back to school and receive my EC-4th teaching certification through the UNT Post-Bachelor Teacher Education Program. I student taught 2nd and 3rd grades and loved every minute of my time there. After receiving my certification I began substitute teaching and tutoring here in Arlington ISD full time. I've loved everything about working with children of all ages. The best part is seeing their faces light up when they've learned something new and had so much fun doing it! In addition to subbing I worked part time as a sitter/nanny for a wonderful nanny agency here in DFW. For the last year and a half I have been a full time Nanny for a large family with 4 children. One with special needs. Its a very rewarding job with great responsibility. I Am seeking a position that is closer to home and gives me time with my own children.

I have been caring for children including my own child for a number of years. When my daughter was 6 mths old I started keeping my neighbors children and eventually opened a child care program in my home in Pasadena, 1991 which I ran on my own for 2 1/2 years until I went back to school and got a job at the campus. In 2005 I started working part time at a church daycare as a second job to supplement my full time job as an office mgr. at a grocery store. While at the daycare I met a 2 1/2 year old little boy with cerebral palsy.I began caring for him parttime at his home as a second job while working fulltime at the daycare as the assistant director. Eventually the family hired me as a fulltime nanny for both of their children, the other a 4 year old girl. I have been employed with this family fulltime for five years and the children are now 10 and about to be 9.
