A little bit about me

Hi! I'm a Jesus-loving, big-hearted caregiver who has spent the last 5 years pouring into the lives of children from newborns all the way through high school. Caring for kids isn't just a job for me, it's truly my calling.
Outside of nannying, I've served as Best Buddies President for 6 consecutive years, walking alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and building friendships that have changed my life just as much as theirs. I also volunteer in the infants and children's ministry at my church every week.
I love doing cleaning, meal prep, any sort of errand. I can help with tutoring too. Whatever your family needs, I'm happy to help.
I'm CPR and First Aid certified, have experience caring for children with special needs, I am a safe driver with plenty of room in my car for car seats and booster seats, so school runs and errands are no problem at all.
I'd love to find a family to do life with. If that sounds like you, let's talk!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In children's ministry, I show up every week to love on kids in a safe, nurturing environment, being a consistent and trustworthy presence in their lives.
As Best Buddies President, I built real relationships with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who just needed someone to show up for them consistently.
Both experiences taught me that caring for children is less about what you do and more about who you are when you walk in the door.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing. Sitting in the dirt with them. Letting them climb on me and pull at my sleeve and talk my ear off about absolutely nothing and everything all at once.
I would bake with them and not care about the mess. I would sit at their level and actually listen. I would laugh at their jokes even when they weren't funny. I would let the littlest one think they were my favorite because somehow every single one of them would feel that way.
I would tell them stories that made their eyes go wide. I would sit with the one in the corner who felt left out and make them feel like the most important person in the room. Because to me, they are.
I wouldn't be rushing to the next thing. I wouldn't be on my phone. I wouldn't be counting down the hours. I would just be there, completely and wholeheartedly there, because these kids deserve nothing less.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Love one another as He has loved us.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.
Serving as Best Buddies President for 6 consecutive years taught me that these kids don't need to be tolerated, they need to be loved, accepted, and known. Every single one of them has shown me more about unconditional love, perseverance, and pure joy than I could have ever taught them. They have made me a better person, a better caregiver, and honestly, a better human.
Jesus always moved toward the ones the world overlooked. He didn't see limitations, He saw people. That's the lens I try to bring into every interaction with a special needs child. Patience isn't something I have to dig deep for with these kids. It comes naturally because I genuinely love being in their world.
Whether it's a child with autism, Down syndrome, developmental delays, or anything in between, I show up the same way every time. Fully present, completely non-judgmental, and ready to meet them exactly where they are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Anytime I have a child in front of me or a newborn in my lap!

Meredith F. - Seeking Work in Austin

Babysitter Available in Austin, TX: Meredith F.

Hi! I’m Meredith and I live in Austin with my husband, who swims professionally for team USA. I work part-time with Athletes in Action at UT, an athletic ministry where I get to spend time with and mentor college athletes. I’m currently looking for a part-time nannying position, ideally around 10 hours a week.

I’ve always loved working with kids and have several years of experience babysitting and nannying. I nannied part-time throughout college and also had two full-time summer nanny positions. I was also a lifeguard for three summers, so I was CPR and First Aid certified at the time (they’ve expired, but I’d definitely renew them if needed).

I’m very dependable, easygoing, and love creating a fun and safe environment for kids. I enjoy being active, spending time outside, helping with routines, and building good relationships with families. I also have a golden retriever, so I’m very comfortable with pets. I’d love to connect and see if I could be a good fit for your family!
