A little bit about me

Hello! I went to school for human behavior for a small while before going to work in the daycare industry. Ive spent about 3 years in childcare, and am CPR certified. I’ve also babysat in my neighborhood growing up my whole childhood. I absolutely adore kids, and I’d like to believe I can relate and not only bond with them, but understand them as well. I’m very well educated on childhood development and how to problem solve in a gentle manor when they aren’t able to articulate their emotions in a positive way. I’m neat, organized, routine based, high energy, highly attentive to my surroundings, and very well skilled in creating a very safe, comfortable and fun environment for your little beans. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I used to babysit the neighbors kids growing up! I always loved it, and to this day I always help out my friends who have kids! I really love being able to be a positive figure in some kids lives, knowing I didn’t necessarily get it myself. I also have daycare center experience working with a plethora of ages. I have a deep passion for childcare and the study of childhood development. I’ve never had a bad time working with children, through their good times and their bad times. I would love nothing more to continue my work within the childcare area.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Park trips, pretend imaginary games, art, these old trivia question games I still have that I did as a kid, helping them find their own unique passions and encouraging them, let them plan a perfect ideal day for themselves, swimming, I make music so my friends kids always love “helping” me with that; making sounds and stuff, any sensory based activity is good for them and myself. (:

The most important part about being a nanny...

Safety, trust, and bonding! Having a connection with the kids is SO important, you don’t want them to see you as some authoritarian, but should be excited and looking forward to the time with the nanny. I used to BEG my parents to go out so we could have a play date with our babysitter and those are core memories
of mine. Making a safe environment that is open and loving for the kids, yet still under control with rules and safety, it makes for a great experience for both parties.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with kids who have autism, and down syndrome in the past. I have also worked with kids who have behavioral issues, and emotional processing issues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Oh Gosh! There’s plenty, but the ones that stick with me the most are the little bonding moments. Their pure form of love and feeling of safety with me is a feeling I can’t even perfectly describe. One example is the kids I watched growing up had a ritual of watching a movie an hour before their bedtime, and both the kids fell asleep laying around and on my lap. It may be the female emotions and the momma fever but it touches a spot in my heart that is a rare sweet button.
