A little bit about me

Hey there! My name is Alyssa I am a 23 year old certified paraprofessional, who's looking to find a more permanent position. I have been working with children for over 6 years and plan to pursue a career in the childcare field. While in high school I completed the early childhood education pathway and received my cord. I also received my paraprofessional degree which allows me to assist children with educational needs and learning life skills. I enjoy seeing children thrive and become who they want to be it's the best thing in the world. I hope that I can fill the position you're looking for! <3

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Bethlehem Church
Childcare Provider

● Making sure all children are safe, fed, and entertained while in our care.

● Making sure to keep the environment comfortable and clean while kids are
present.

● Once all children are picked up we wiped down all surfaces, vacuuming floors, turning all electronics off, and preparing for the next week.

Washington Farms
Activities Operator

● While employed at Washington Farms we were trained to work multiple different activities such as; petting zoo, inflatable slide, ziplines, corn maze, kettle corn building, and the pumpkin patch.

● At each activity during hours one or more employees would be responsible for running, cleaning, stocking, and observing customers at each of the different activities.

● After all customers leave the farm the employee at each station would check, clean, restock, and prepare for the next work day.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy teaching and learning by doin. For example cooking teaches with numbers, simple addition and learning to focus. Or just relaxing while reading or maybe even packing a picnic for the park. Whatever they choose to do (with boundaries).

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel that the most important part of being a nanny is my ability to provide support for the parents which is being with their children. AND to make sure they are safe and engaged throughout my time with them!

My experience with special needs children...

I assisted teaching special needs children how to work with animals for nearly a year. From teaching them basic needs of equine animals and the basic of riding horses. Animal (especially equine) therapy helps them understand boundaries and the importance caring for others and ourselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was years ago. I was nannying for a family with 2 lovely littles. Both fell asleep while I was in the kitchen making a “movie snack”. By far the funniest and my favorite.
