Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In my freshman and sophomore year of high school, I was in a theater camp for kids ages 5-12 and we got to play games with them and teach them songs and dance. Within that, I was assigned 3 or 4 kids that I had to look after and make sure they knew their roles. We met twice a week for about two months. Another time I had experience with children is in 8th grade when I was in a leadership group with other 8th graders and we were able to play games and teach kids from grades 1-5.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing simple board games with kids as well as simple hand games. Any games around the house are fine, and I have some of my own as well! I will always enjoy a game of hide and seek or tag (if allowed). Depending on the age of the children, I would enjoy making bracelets with supplies I own or puzzles too. Some relaxing things I used to do with my younger brother are things like reading to/with him and creating dances. In general, I’m okay with doing almost anything as long as it’s parent approved and safe for everybody involved.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important thing about being a nanny is creating a trusting relationship with the children and parents. If I am unable to gain the trust of the children, it’ll be difficult to keep the trust of the parents. My ultimate goal is to make sure everybody trusts me and feels comfortable around my presence.
