My experience with special needs children...
My older sister has Down Syndrome and from the time I was 1 years old I started to help my mom with her. Before starting school I was always invited to my sister and her classmate’s school activities. So, my whole life I have been around children with special needs. In middle school I was did student aid in the special ed class. Throughout my sister’s high school career and years I would volunteer and play Special Olympics with her as a buddy
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was when the little girl I was taking care of could finally say my name to get my attention. It’s such a silly little moment but it made me cry.
My other favorite moment was when I told my kiddos they were funny and I love them one came up to me, hugged me and said “I love you too Miss Lyssa”
