A little bit about me

I’m a mother to a beautiful 14 month old baby girl. I’ve always loved kids, I love educating them and helping them to grow and become independent. I started working with kids when my mom was sick with cancer, helping out with my younger siblings. From there, I would babysit family friends, and relatives, one having ADHD and having to make sure he took all his medicine on time. I’m currently employed at KinderCare as an assistant teacher, working on my 45 hours and CPR certificate and etc. I do know how to perform CPR. I’ve babysat kids since I was about 9 years old. I’ve babysat kids from 0-7 years old. I have experience working with special needs kids. I also have a 14 month old daughter. I’m that over protective mom who researches everything possible! I know everything there is to know about safety and caring of a child. I’m currently an assistant teacher at KinderCare.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy coloring, reading, flash cards, etc. the best way to learn is by doing! It’s important to allow a child to express their creativity. I love playing at playgrounds, going for relaxing walks, and enjoying the fresh air.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve cared for a relative with ADHD. I made sure he took his medicine on time, made sure he was fed and on track with his homework, helping to teach him time management and proper hygiene. He consoled in me about his feelings a lot. I spent my days working with him to improve his overall behavior.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Once I babysat 4 kids at once, when I was only 14 years old. I made everyone dinner, then we voted on a movie to watch. We sat down and watched the movie, while one by one they fell asleep. I moved them to their beds and tucked them in. Their parents came home shocked because they usually don’t fall asleep that early. It warmed my heart to know I could put them all to sleep after a nice evening, and to know it made their parents happy.
