Hi!
My name is Amanda Barron, I am 20 years old, and I would love to be there for your family when you need it most. I am a trusting and patient person who values kindness and understanding. I love children and have work and volunteer experience caring for and looking after children in large settings. Although I have not nannied for a family, I have had the responsibility of taking care of and teaching groups of kids in different settings, whether it be summer camp or a Parks and rec opportunity. I love the responsibility for looking after and teaching kids, I am a college student, so I have no problem being a mentor or tutor for a child, I am an Art History major, so I value creativity and abstract thinking. I would say I am a progressive thinker and non-judgmental person who is an accepting person. I would love to be of help to a family and their kid(s) who shares a similar logic.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have experience working with kids at my summer camp Royal Ridges Retreat when I was only sixteen I was responsible for teaching large groups of kids and planning supervised activities from ages that range from 1st grade to 5th grade. I also have more recent experience volunteering at my local Parks and Rec two years ago, managing and engaging with the children, telling stories and organizing group activities that spark creativity and engage everyone.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love artistic expression, I think offering kids the freedom to imagine and create whatever they want is so important to their development. Drawing and arts and crafts are one of my favorite past times but I also enjoy reading to kids and promoting them to read for themselves as well. I love being able to teach kids something and see them apply it to their life in their own way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of nannying is being present. Present in whomever you're watching after's day and life. Adjusting yourself to better suit their needs and possessing a level of patience that can be used on everyone during any scenario.

My experience with special needs children...

I have some experience with special needs kids. My mother was a special needs teacher for many years, and I was able to help out in the classroom and form friendships with the students in the class. I understand the importance of patience and kindness with everyone and offering help when help is best needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have not been an official nanny for anyone before but I have experience babysitting, and although I understand the difference of the two I also realize that there are similarities I can draw from one and apply what I learned to the other. For example, I would have to look after siblings and neighborhood kids when I was younger and be responsible for making meals, taking them on trips to the park and being overall responsible for their safety while making sure their day is filled with excitement.
