A little bit about me

Hi! I'm very excited that you've found my profile and are interested in learning more about me! I've been working with children since 2003 throughout childcare facilities and independently nannying.

I am extremely devoted to designing engaging lessons and helping children learn in a way that makes the most sense to them. During the summer, I build out a whole set of homeschooling curriculum and field trips schedule for my son and up to 2 other children for social enrichment opportunities (I need to be sure I can safely fit all children into my car in case of emergencies) and to help them prepare for the following school year.

Since the pandemic, I did not get my recertification for CPR and First-Aid but I can absolutely obtain these prior to starting work. Additionally, I will provide you with references from past families and from the teachers I've worked and volunteered for.

Just a heads up, I currently live in Sultan; however, we are in the process of moving to Lake Stevens.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked throughout childcare facilities such as Bright Horizon and employed as a nanny for many families. During my tenure, I've been hired to travel to Japan with a family to care for their children while they work through relocation arrangements. My last few roles, I had the opportunity to bring my son along with. He's been by my side with children ranging from newborn (he's obsessed with babies) to 10 year old's. I've also worked with families during their adoption processes, educating and supporting parents with Neurodivergent children, volunteering at elementary schools, both during school hours in the classroom and after school programs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

STEM lessons, hikes, visiting the Zoo/Children's Museum/PSC/lakes/community parks, local farms and berry picking (learning about horticulture), art lessons, LEGOS, reading, board games, camping, traveling, and more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Slowing down! It's so important to slow down and enjoy every moment of our children's lives and it brings me joy to see my son and other children grow and learn together. I also believe that slowing down decreases stress in children and creates a safe space for them. As a nanny, it has always been my priority to guide children to find their passions and explore the world at their own pace.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with children on the spectrum and actively advocate for Neurodiversity throughout our schools, educating parents and teachers on how we can explore other teaching methods.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I accepted an amazing opportunity with a family soon after maternity leave and it turned out my son, who I would bring with me everyday, was only a few weeks apart from their daughter. My son and their daughter are still best friends to this day and my son has even welcomed their son into this world. We consider them our second family!
