The most important part about being a nanny...
My first priority when nannying is always going to be safety, but I do also think it is important to be a good role model to the kids and make sure the time they spend with me is fun and they are happy. I think it is important to build a relationship with the kids as I want them to be comfortable around me and trust me while still being respectful.
My experience with special needs children...
I have taken care of a 12 year old girl with PDA autism and a 5 year old nonverbal girl with autism. I also worked in an orthopedic office as a technician and had several special needs patients.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was with a 12 year old girl who has PDA autism, she looked at me while I was driving and said “did you know that you’re my best friend”. It made me smile ear to ear.
