First hand, my 4 children (grown and gone now) were considered "2e" aka Twice Exceptional = Highly Gifted and having Severe Learning difficulties. I utilized several years in finding cognitive brain programs to reorient their cognition, learned Neurolinguistics that could reach them, found that the maturity rate was 2 to 5 years less, cognitively and that the "collision" of being highly gifted and having severe processing issues affected the neurotransmitters (hitting Dopamine and Serotonin) making it necessary to have holistic support during cognitive brain programs via supplements.

Urban Sitter: I drove from Spout Spring, VA up to Charlottesville, VA to support 2 families with toddlers. The families flew up from TX and FL to see the UVA football game. I knew tha the toddlers would be over stimulated and exhausted. I also knew that the young parents wouldn't have been able to pack all of the cognitive toys and books to support homeostasis during their time in VA. I brought in my own cognitive toys / books and a pumpkin to better help the children go from allostacis to homeostasis.....so, the whole process of watching the toddlers experience balance and fun during the day and a nice transition for bedtime was 1 giant favorite moment.
