I am currently seeking a full time nanny position. I have a BA in English, MFA in Creative Writing, & K-8th teaching credential, & Upper Elementary Montessori Teaching certificate. I have been a nanny for over 4 years, a teacher previously for 3 years, special needs aid for 5 years, and an Academic tutor for over 15 years. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I am athletic, outgoing, reliable, engage in learning & development play and activities, homework help, cooking, & household chores. I recently finished with toddler twins that went on to pre-school & I’m currently helping out a flexible family in Irvine with a 4 year old. I have worked with newborns, toddlers, twins, and school age children. For babies: diaper changes, bottle feeding, tummy time, singing nursery rhymes, reading, crafts, painting, and park activities. I worked as a 4/5th grade teacher, a full time on campus sub teacher for k-8th grade, a special needs aids in k-3rd grade classrooms, & I have tutored children k-10th grade for many years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Learning activities and milestones for baby & toddlers. Developing language skills through sounding out letters, words, & phonics, learning numbers, colors, & shapes, & Montessori activities. Singing nursery rhymes and using movement & dance. Reading books, painting, drawing, arts & crafts, swimming, sports et. Assisting older children with homework & all subjects, transporting to after school activities, cooking, playing games, & taking to beach, park, movies, zoo, & on outings approved by parents.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Helping children grow and learn. Helping children develop skills and independence by gently guiding them. Setting boundaries, but leaving room for growth. Being a positive role model to promote building their confidence and leading their character in kindness. Molding good study habits, manners, and positive character traits. Being a supportive person for the parents and lifting responsibilities by helping keep the house organized, tidy, and taking on household chores.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked as a behavioral aid in k-3rd grade classrooms for 5 years. I have also nannied for several special needs children age 10, and 8-9 year old twin girls, and I currently work part time flexible with a special needs 4 year old.
