Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive knowledge starting with infants up to teenagers.I also have my own 4 children and 3 grandchildren. In the past I ran a home daycare for several years. I also have experience with special needs children as well into adulthood.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love cooking with children, measuring out and making all of our creations fun learning time. I am very good with crafts, homemade recycling art projects. I enjoy swimming, bike riding and basketball. All of my children were athletes, moving and getting outdoors are a real important thing in my life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When you’re taking care of a child It is important to make every experience a learning one. We have such a short amount of time while they are growing to nurture and give each child what they need to blossom and grow into smart independent ones, what not to do to…what to do , you incorporate lessons consistently. It doesn’t feel so much like a burden on the child. It’s just constant repetitive learning and reinforcement.

My experience with special needs children...

My best friend had a brother with special-needs that they adopted when I was nine years old. Growing up around so many people I always was taught to look at what everybody has the same not challenge differences. I was a Special Olympics volunteer all through junior high high school, and even in my adult life I worked at Grouphome’s and did some respite care as an adult.I became a massage therapist as a result of a lot of helping out with PT I assisted in doing daily exercises and stretches with a lot of range of motion, familiar with braces G-tube’s wheelchairs walkers texture of food and consistency, medication administration and showering. I am comfortable with all needs.
