A little bit about me

My name is Ana, and I'm 36 years old. I'm the mother of two beautiful children, ages 11 and 5.
I'm originally from Chile and have incomplete university education. I speak English, but I still struggle a bit. It doesn't hinder me from following directions or doing activities. I enjoy being active, being at home, cooking, and doing various activities with my children.I consider myself a responsible, attentive, and very thoughtful person. I'm always attentive to my children's behavior so I can guide them in the best way possible if they need me.
I'm protective and like to help people. Letting children be children and living their lives is my motto.
I'm not perfect, and I don't think anyone is, but I try to give my best every day as a woman and mother.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Since December of last year (2024), I started caring for Niko, who was 6 months old. He's now a little more than year, and I spend 6 hours with him three times a week in the mornings. The beginning was a bit complicated since he's a mama's boy, but we worked together with his mother and with patience, we managed to build a very beautiful relationship with him.
I adore him; he's a sweetheart and has grown and gone through several stages of his development that he was able to be with. Now he's walking, and it's been incredible to live this experience again. We have a great time together; we eat breakfast, we cook in the mornings, and he helps me when his mother needs extra help. I think having a mother who's already a mother taking care of your little one is a huge plus.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing everyday activities. Eating together, cooking, playing, and spending time outdoors is the best. I love doing things I've already done with my children or things I'd love to come home and share with them.
I love teaching things and discovering the world with them, researching insects in the garden, and getting dirty in the mud together.
I take my time getting to know them so I can help them when they might feel uncomfortable or sad.
In general, the internet helps me a lot when thinking of activities for them when everyday ideas seem boring. I always try to be active with them to have fun moments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think loving children is the most important thing. Understanding that they will make mistakes, that they will make a mess, and that you can't expect a tidy house if you have young children.
Understanding that all children are different and learn in different ways and at different times is very important.
Each child has their own time; they will begin to walk and talk when that time comes. I think it's the right thing to do to help them understand that making mistakes is okay, as is learning and finding solutions.
Having age-appropriate responsibilities is a good point to add. Playing is fine, but so is tidying up and leaving your space clean.
Many things can happen in a day, and I think the most important thing is to be patient and give each child time so they can get used to the new changes in the best way possible and without stress.

My experience with special needs children...

My youngest son has mild autism. It's complicated when little ones don't concentrate easily or have a hard time trusting new people, but I firmly believe that giving up is not an option. I'm someone who always tries to find solutions to problems and tries again and again until things work out. I believe that with patience and love, anything is impossible. With children, regardless of their condition, there will always be good days and not-so-good days, perhaps truly bad ones. They're people just like us, just young, and they often don't have complete control over their emotions. For us as adults, emotions often get the better of us; it's much more difficult for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To accompany them as they grow and see at the end of the day that they had a good time with me.
When they're upset with a parent, it's always good for them to have someone close to them to turn to. Seeing that in some cases, that person can be me, helping them sort through their emotions and learn the difference between right and wrong makes me very happy. We all make mistakes, but what makes us great people is knowing how to recognize them, learn from them, and ask for forgiveness.
