More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was very involved in caring for the three younger cousins since I was 7 years old. I helped with nightly feedings, diaper changes, and occasionally administering medicine. During high school I would often take them to school, dress them for the morning, feed them breakfast, then pick them up at the end of the day before I went to work. I would often take them to doctors appointments early so my uncle and aunt could show up on time.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy playing board games and playing outside with soccer balls and even baseball!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part about being a nanny is showing the children you genuinely care for them. It is important to show you aren’t there simply for the check, but to show that they are loved, cared for, and admired. Children deserve to know that they can trust and rely on someone who loves them no matter what.
My experience with special needs children...
My youngest cousin was diagnosed with autism at four years old, she had difficulty with food textures, noise and light sensitivity, as well as vocalizing her feelings. I would create methods to help her find comfort foods, comfortable clothes, and methods to avoid extremely bright or dim areas.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was fifteen and caring for my three younger cousins. All were sick with a cold and I was having difficulty putting my youngest cousin to sleep as she was complaining of a headache. So I agreed to lay down with her until her headache went away, or she fell asleep. Eventually,
the both of us fell asleep and when I woke up, the older two had fallen asleep in the bed with us.
