The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, trusting, and joyful relationship with both the child and the family. A great nanny is dependable, attentive, patient, and responsive to each child’s individual needs. I also think it is important to bring fun, playfulness, and warmth into the role, so children feel comfortable being themselves and excited to engage each day.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with children with special needs includes both professional and direct caregiving roles. I worked for 7 years as a special education teacher in New York City, supporting children with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, emotional, and learning needs. My background has helped me build strong skills in patience, flexibility, behavior support, emotional regulation, communication, and creating structured, supportive environments where children can feel safe and successful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nannying experiences was caring for a 7-year-old boy who was often asked by adults to rein in his energy. From my perspective, many of those expectations did not reflect a full understanding of who he was or what his body needed. As we spent more time together, he began to feel comfortable and realized he could be his true self with me. Getting to watch his personality open up over time was really special. I loved sharing in his silliness, humor, curiosity, and energy, and those moments of laughter, trust, and connection meant so much to me. His parents felt a huge sense of relief with him in my care, and I treasure their family to this day. These kinds of relationships are what make childcare feel so meaningful and important to me, both personally and professionally.

Cheyenne F. - Seeking Work in Winooski

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Winooski, VT: Cheyenne F.

Bringing joy and nurturing care to children is my passion. For the past two years, I've had the pleasure of working with children aged newborn to pre-teen. I have taken care of children in my free time between jobs, and would love to start again! I am comfortable caring for up to three children at a time. My experience in previous babysitting roles has motivated me to support families by providing a reliable childcare option. I'm patient, creative, and friendly. I enjoy playing outdoor games, board games, and age-appropriate technology-based games with children. I follow the parents' lead and am comfortable enforcing household rules. I communicate with parents using their preferred method, whether that's a quick chat at pickup or regular updates via text. I am also happy to help with cooking, light housekeeping, and travel. I'm excited to bring my enthusiasm and dedication to your family! Currently working on getting CPR certified!

Hi, thank you for taking time to read a little about me!
My name is Jade McGillis, I have been working in childcare for about six years. I have a lot of experience with all age groups, although I have worked primarily with infant and toddler aged children. I found my passion working with children young and started babysitting when I was 12 years old. I completed the Childhood Education and Human Services course at Center for Technology, Essex in 2018, where I was hands-on learning at EJ’s Kids Klub for a year. From there I have worked at Heartworks in Williston and The Homestead in Shelburne, all of which have strengthened my knowledge in Early Childhood Education. I look forward to caring for your little ones!

Angel C. - Seeking Work in Winooski

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Winooski, VT: Angel C.

I’ve always loved working with children! I’m the oldest of 5 so I’ve always been the kind of “built in babysitter” in the family so I’ve definitely had experience with all ages from infant to at least 10 years old. I’m currently working in a childcare center but am looking for something more reasonable and doable! I am cpr/first aid Certified, I’ve done some professional development as well as the 9 hour vermont childcare orientation.
