I used to keep the sweetest little guy whose mom was so worried because he had cried so much with everyone before me. But he didn’t cry with me, he in fact was very fond of me. He loved to cuddle under me, get tickle monstered, & would be so excited to see me everyday. We never knew why until we figured out that he thought I looked like his mommy because he called me “mama”. It was the funniest but cutest thing I’ve ever heard. He was comfortable with me because I reminded him of his mommy. That reminded me why I loved to care for kids. They’re the sweetest little souls & they pay attention to details adults wouldn’t even realize. Children always give me a “this is why” moment & I love it.
