While working with one family I had put the twins to bed and the older son had a later bed time. After eating dinner he wanted to go into the back yard to play before bedtime. When we did he called me over because he said lights were going off. I called him step away and to come back so that I could make sure there wasn’t an electrical issue. When I walked over I realized what he was seeing were lighting bugs or fireflies for the first time. I grabbed jars so that we could catch them and when the parents came home they caught some with us. It felt so special to be a part of that moment and reminded me of catching fireflies when I was a kid.
