A little bit about me

I am 22 years old and for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to teach and work with children. I have a strong passionate belief in cultivating strong community and have always loved to help others. When working with children my biggest focuses are teaching them strong basic skills in literacy, math, sciences, arts, social skills, and building motor skills and health knowledge. I prefer to take children out to the park, read a good book together, or work on baking cookies over sitting them in front of a tv. I'd love to help your children flourish.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a preschool teacher at the McConnell AFB Child development center for the last 4 years.
I have previous experience babysitting children in middle and high school.

going to the park
riding bikes/rollerskating
taking a walk around the neighborhood
colouring, drawing, arts and crafts
reading, i own a plethora of fun childrens books to read to/with littles
light baking and cooking activities
movies, tv, or video games on occasion
helping with homework or learning some skills
I have experience with working with children in pools/splash pads and enjoy doing that in the warmer months as well

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it takes a village to raise children and am passionate about offering help to those who need it. If I am caring for your children, I'll make sure to help them learn valuable skills for later in life and cultivate their imagination as well.
I'm more into learning, creative and active activities than anything else. But I also enjoy engaging in the occasional game, movie, or show as a way to bond over something they enjoy.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked in a classroom environment with children on the spectrum, with down syndrome, and some other mental needs.
I also have classroom experience with children in wheelchairs or using other mobility aids.
Additionally, I have worked with children with asthma and seizures and can work with those medications if needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Obligatorily actually a teaching moment. While engaging in a drawing activity with one of my students, a child brought me what he had drawn and asked how to write my parents' names. I asked him why and he said that his drawing was for them and that he loved my parents because without them I wouldn't have been his teacher. He had never met my parents, we had only briefly talked about my family as part of a lesson, but the moment melted my heart.
